Palm Sunday

At our 5PM service this week, we read about Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem. We read this passage in John a few weeks ago but are taking a brief break from our John series for Palm Sunday and Easter. We read about Jesus’ divine knowledge of what is to happen, even down to where his disciples will find the colt which he rides into the city. All this shows that Jesus is in absolute control of what is about to happen to him, including his trial, torture and death. The tragedy which is already present during this triumphal entry is that this huge crowd of people singing praises to Jesus would have significant overlap with the crowd of people later that week shouting for Jesus to be crucified.
