God’s Hand of Providence

At our 5PM service this week, we hear that Jesus healed a man who was born blind. The disciples ask Jesus as they pass the blind man, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus rebukes this line of questioning and tells them that this man was born blind so that God’s works might be displayed in him.

Not all bad things that happen are the result of sin or are punishments from God. We live in a broken world in which bad things happen and people get sick. Regardless of the sin and sickness we are surrounded by, we can praise God that he continues to reign and that his hand of providence is evident amongst the brokenness.
