The Death of Lazarus

At our 5PM service this week, we read about the death of Lazarus. It’s easy to forget that Jesus’ humanity meant that he had dear friends and he grieved the death of his friends, even though he had confidence in the resurrection. In thinking about the passing of a member of our congregation for the past couple of weeks, I’ve been reminded of the hope we hold in the resurrection, as well as the sadness for those left behind when a brother or sister enters into glory. Thankfully, Christ leaves no doubt that we will be raised to life, just as he was.
